Here are some of my favorite finds from this evening's spelunking basement cleaning.
Does everyone have crazy stuff like this in the dim recesses of their storage areas, or is it just us?

I definitely don't have strange stuff dating back thirty years, but I'm sure I have a few things downstairs I'm going to be a little rueful about when I dig them up :}

I'm sure I have stuff 30 years or older, but that doesn't men I'll admit to it...oh, I just did. Hey, that guy bowl thing could be used for floating flowers, like some fresh picked blooms with no stem. I don't get flowers much anymore, because the cats think they are toys, and don't listen to me when I tell them to clean up the mess.

Perley, the little guy bowl is only about two or three inches in diameter and about an inch deep; those would need to be some pretty small flowers. I suspect it was intended for a votive candle.

So, um, I think the little guy is really cool...if you haven't already recycled him, I'd love to give him a good home!
